The purpose of Shade Tee Mechanics is to
learn how to evaluate, maintain and repair our Corvettes.
Members attend Shade Tree to become better acquainted with
the mechanical and electrical operation of their cars. In doing
this, we also become better acquainted with fellow club members.
Informal meetings are held once a month at Pro Automotive in
Dallas, an automotive repair shop owned and operated by Bobby
Freeman. It is located at 4550 Gus Thomasson, Suite 12, Mesquite,
TX. 75150.
There is no charge to members except for parts and supplies
reimbursements to the shop, though it is customary to donate
a token amount to cover shop overhead. The members who attend
Shade Tree Mechanics are not professional automotive technicians.
When we reach the limits of our abilities and need his help,
Bobby and his staff provide top notch professional support.
Members can bring their own tools or they can use tools available
at the shop. Pro Automotive is open on Saturdays so space and
time are limited and all work needs to be scheduled. If you
want to do something at Shade Tree, contact John Slaughter to
schedule the work. Even if you don't need to work on your car,
you are still encouraged to attend.
