NCRS

National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS)

Mission

Formed in 1974, the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) is a non-profit hobby group of 15,800+ families dedicated to the restoration, preservation, history and enjoyment of Corvettes made from the model years 1953 through 1995.

If you are looking for a 1953 - 96 Corvette: The seller is telling you "the numbers match". Do you know what they mean? Are they truthful? Join the NCRS and learn from all of the information we have gathered in the last 35 years to make a wise decision when you purchase your Corvette.

If you already own a 1953 - 96 Corvette: No matter what you are up to, NCRS members have been there before. Benefit from all of the information we have gathered in the last 35 years to make better and smarter decisions as you restore and maintain your valuable Corvette.

Membership

NCRS membership includes your subscription to the Award Winning Quarterly - The Corvette Restorer Magazine. Four (4) information packed issues per year - many how to do it articles, event coverage and award recognition are just a few examples of what is included.

Membership also provides you six (6) issues per year of The Driveline publication. Buy, sell or trade parts of Corvettes with free ads for all members. Plus vendors ads for services and parts that you will not find in other publications. A calendar of future events is reported in each issue.

Judging

NCRS Flight Judging is recognized around the world as "THE STANDARD" in determining originality. The Flight Judging System is designed to educate each owner about their car as well as provide recognition for excellence in the areas of restoration, performance or preservation. You can learn to judge through participation. Start out as an Observer Judge and work your way up to Master Judge, like Jim White, through the Judges Recognition Program.

Events

Nationwide events are a member benefit. Each year NCRS sponsors one (1) National Convention, six (6) Regional Meets and dozens of Chapter Meets. There are road tours, social events, tech sessions, judging schools and more.

Information

Technical information that is available to NCRS members through in-house sources is a valuable benefit. When you join the NCRS, you obtain immediate access to the combined knowledge of thousands of previous members. A group of seventeen (17) Technical Advisors, recognized as authorities in their respective fields, are only an email away. Whatever problems you might run into have more than likely been solved in past years by other NCRS members. Why re-invent the wheel? The on-line Technical Discussion Board provides members a forum to ask questions and then receive replies from very knowledgeable Corvette enthusiasts. Technical Discussion topics can be searched and retrieved from a vast archive of material.

The Texas Chapter hosts an annual Regional Meet in the fall that attracts Corvettes from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana and Colorado along with Master Judges from throughout the USA. The 2008 Regional Meet in Waco had nearly 100 cars entered for Flight Judging or Sportsman Display and had approximately 300 members from 32 States in attendance.

The Chapter Road Tour Chairman hosts an annual overnight Road Tour in which all Chapter members are invited to participate. This event provides the opportunity to get members cars on the road again.

Several Chapter Meets are held in Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio/Austin areas throughout the year. Additionally, three (3) Area Coordinators organize and host Chapter Technical Sessions at which technical presentations, restoration demonstrations or other interesting topics are presented by knowledgeable members or guest speakers.
